Spiral Stair Wine Cellar

I would love to have a secret trap door somewhere in the house, not sure it would be filled with wine since I probably don’t even have a bottle in the house right now. I think my secret cellar would be filled with servers and other technology. Only problem with that would be if the authorities ever found it, they would never think that it was installed just for fun. The Spiral Cellar company offers lots of options, they can make a hidden version or a model that has a glass top to show off your collection. What would you put into your spiral cellar?

"The Spiral Cellar system was first developed by a Frenchman, Georges Harnois, in 1978, who recognized that few modern houses had cellars, but people still wanted somewhere to store their wine. It can keep up to 1,600 bottles in ideal storage conditions and since, like a traditional cellar, it relies on the surrounding earth for its insulation, plus an ingenious air-flow system, it requires no power to maintain its constant temperature. Once it’s paid for, that’s it – no more expenses except for the wine itself, of course! "

  1. All coolness aside, how are you going to get down to the bottom floor of wines? Are you going to walk on hands? Is there enough room to crouch to the bottom wines?

  2. @rockrapdude

The stairs are the same width all the way to the bottom, so if you want wine off the bottom shelf you just sit on the stairs and reach down and grab it.

  3. I would make mine twice as deep and put it in the basement of my house, ultra cool place to keep servers n such, plus have a hidden door in the side of it which opens up to a secret toy room. lol That would be fun.

  4. i would get way too drunk and be found dead weeks later at the bottom of the stairs in a pool of blood and vomit with a broken neck. i still totally want one!

  5. Wine is for sitting in a dark, cool place where you don’t drink, touch or even look at

  6. I changed my mind, Alan…I’m moving in to this place instead of that garage! 😀

  7. I got dizzy just looking at it. Pretty cool tho.

  8. Wow that is very cool, just wouldn’t want to go down/up the stair case after a few drinks!

  9. That’s really frickin’ cool. Beer kegs don’t make much sense, but I’d prefer that wine. I agree with the last guy though, definitely would become more challenging to get a drink after the first bottle or 2.

  10. Best wine cellar ever! Could have a varity of uses. I think it would be the perfect addition to the Best Garage ever.

  11. I’ll take two… One for red and one for white. Hey, why make things more complicated than they have to be by mixing the wines together.

  12. Not very dark in there, is it?
