Suzuk-E – Suzuki Electric Bike Completion

The Suzuk-E project is done! have a look at the video to see some of the work that was needed to finish the project. If it looks like there are some major new parts you would be right. As it worked out there were some failures near the end of the build which required some expensive new parts. Frank hooked up a meter that can keep track of the total charge energy that the battery needs. This will allow a simple calculation to see how much it cost to “fill up”.

“Canadian Tire offered a “Blue Planet – Electronic Energy Meter” on special for under $20 one week and I just couldn’t pass-up that sort of value. A very clever bit of code in the Blue Planet Energy Meter is the ability to log the Kwh and cumulative cost per Charge of say individual or Banks of batteries… In our part of Canada we pay a flat 5.6 cents per Kwh up to the first 1000 Kwh’s, and the rate jumps to 6.5 cents there after…”

  1. Looks awesome. I’m not criticizing, but what’s the deal with a geared motor paired with a non geared? Or am I just seeing things?

    Can you provide better documentation for those of us who need to read directions for our own conversions?

  5. The motors are Unite MY1020’s rated at 600W each and were
    selected to replace the single 1200 watt that was
    originally installed…
