RC Aircraft Simulator Controls

MikeysRC has built an RC Aircraft Simulator that replicates what it would feel like to fly a plane using a stick and pedals. The pilot that is demonstrating the system is following the plane in the sky as he flies it but the plane has a camera that is transmitting the flight video in real time to a monitor. This means that you can fly it using the controls and monitor just like you would if you were in a real plane. Some video goggles might provide for a better experience since bright sunlight might wash out the monitor making it hard to fly just using the video signal. The chair has potentiometers built into all the controls which are run to a slave controller that is mounted under the seat. Mike holds the master controller that is actually sending the signal to the plane with his finger on the override button. If the test pilot needs a bit of help Mike can simply release the button and take over his his remote handset.Â
