Hard Drive PC Case

Got a box of old hard drives doing nothing. Put them to work housing your new computer components. “While waiting for parts to arrive and new ideas to sprout up on my CLOWNED project, I’ve started another. I’m building a custom case made of Hard Drives. All of the HD’s are DEAD. Many are 2GB and below, 1 is the 120GB HD I had in Air Force One that died.

Cooling Computers with Tiny Jet Engines

Google is building a new computing center that could house up to 450,000 servers. Could you imagine what it would sound like if they were all jet engine fan cooled? “The computer servers that fill huge data centers are producing more heat with every new generation of processors. It’s a problem that’s sending engineers on a search for cooling fans that are both small enough to fit inside ever-smaller server

Extreme Electric Car

This is not the Prius of electric cars. The X1 was designed for one purpose, to go fast. “Wrightspeed builds extreme performance electric supercars. With advanced electric drive train technology, our cars raise the performance driving experience to a new level – while still returning 3 times better energy efficiency than the most efficient cars available. Wrightspeed is building the X1, demonstrable today in a street-legal prototype, using lithium-ion batteries

How a Microprocessor is Made

Here is an interesting video of how a microprocessor is made. “Microprocessors normally serve as the CPU in a computer system and are basically “digital electronic component[s] with miniaturized transistors on a single semiconductor integrated circuit. Microprocessors made possible the advent of the microcomputer. Before this, electronic CPUs were typically made from bulky discrete switching devices (and later small-scale integrated circuits) containing the equivalent of only a few transistors” Via:
