Just what I need in my house, a man made tornado. Based on these plans this work of art was created.
” I built a tornado machine using instructions from www.weather-photography.com and doing some of my own modifications. It works really well! I took a video of it at different angles, closeups, and even inside the storm just to show you how cool this thing is! it was hard work, but in the end it was worth it! enjoy!
Can you build this? Yes! However, the design of this machine is more elaborate than it would need to be to just produce a vortex – it is meant to be put in your living room or somewhere else that requires it to look nice. If you follow the construction plans carefully and methodically, you will find that building this machine does not require a lot of work, and the results will be well worth it! ”

This is one of the coolest diy projects I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing! Oh and if anyone knows of a liquid that is phosphorescent under black lights? Imagine a glowing tornado in your living room! I know something will work if not a liquid then a solid in dust form to make debris for the wind to pick up even use multiple colors. Anyone who has any ideas leave a response here, I hate doing research when I don’t have to.

If anyone else wants to do the glowing tornado thing here’s a powder that looks perfect!

Very cool, that would be a great effect.

Yeah I think it would be cool to use both colors on opposite sides in the tank and observe the manner in which the wind moves and or mixes debris in a “tornadoâ€. I haven’t read the whole guide on making one of these but I believe he uses a misting system. I’m not sure how this stuff would react when mixed with water. The site says that it will be fine when kiln fired and a myriad of other things but I don’t think they mentioned mixing it with water. I’m probably just going to put the powder in the chamber directly and forgo the whole misting thing. I plan to do this as soon as I have superfluous money. Which probably means never but a guy can dream right. Love the site by the way!
