CNC Toast Graphics

Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories have concocted a wild toast making machine. Well it doesn’t really make toast, it prints images on the toast using hot air. Soon we will have to jack our toasters into the net so that our toast will have ads that go with the ads on our eggs.

Video after the jump.

“Recently we succeeded in mounting the hot air gun to the carriage of the printer. The next step was testing the XY motion control system without the Z axis installed.

It turns out that you can actually do some interesting things with just the print head and the X-Y gantry. Especially since, as one of our astute readers noted in a comment, “(3D printer – Z axis) + hot air rework station=completely digital toast imaging technology.” Our thoughts exactly.”

  1. Ebay, here we come!

  2. Years ago, one of the military branches had a design for a battlefield printer that used
tiny jets of hot air to scorch dot-matrix characters onto paper. The output was fairly
permanent and the printer required no ink! I think I saw it in Popular Electronics magazine
back in the late ’60s or early ’70s.

  3. My mom always told me “Don’t play with food!” here we go 🙂

  4. Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories is the best place for outthere hacks no doubt, this just reinforces that thought

  5. Newest breakthrough.. TIT (toast imaging technology) Very impressive!

  6. Is that Ze Frank on the toast?

  7. Hi Alan:

This is soooo cute! My son would love this!

Thanks for stopping by and for adding my blog
as your Technorati favorites. I’ve just added

  9. The first thing I thought of was making Jesus sandwiches.
You could sell them for a million dollars each.

  10. Yeah, it’s pretty much over now for the “Virgin Mary” market.

  11. Can this machine burn an image of Hillary on a piece of bread?
