Show us your Workbench Contest

I have seen lots of very interesting workbenches over the years that use some creative ideas to save time and add functionality. The one below was featured on Make last year, the creator had limited space and needed a small setup that would provided big functionality. I would like to see what other ideas are available to make our hacking and building lives easier.

The prize for this contest is a 4GB iPod Nano. Contest dates are September 6 – October 31, 2008.

Your entry needs to be added to this forum thread to be considered.

The first 20 entries will get a loupe magnifier shown below. These are great for hunting down small defects on circuit boards and will be sure to make a great addition to your bench tools.

  5. Hi Lorne,

Thanks for participating. 🙂 You first need to upload your pictures to the internet, there are lots of free services such as Flickr or Photobucket. http://photobucket.com/ http://www.flickr.com/

You can also use the Hacked Gadgets Photo Gallery if you want. http://forum.hackedgadgets.com/image_gallery/

    See instruction on use here.

You will then need to enter the URL of the picture in the forum post, highlight it and click on the Img button. Clicking the button will place some tags around the image text allowing it to be shown as an image. Click on the preview button below the post to see what the picture looks like.

If you have any additional questions please don’t hesitate to ask here or by email by clicking on the Contact Us link in the top left of the site.

  6. Need to run this contest again!! I *finally* have a proper house, and thus a proper workshop. (I was so eager, I set up the workshop before setting up my bedroom or any of the other rooms in the house 🙂
