Obama Presidential Limo – made by Cadillac

The US President Obama has one sweet ride that is guaranteed to let him safely ride in style. There are still lots of details that have not been released but from what we know and can see it is one amazing vehicle. This Cadillac is made by GM but it is not based on the Cadillac, it is actually based on the huge Topkick truck! The 8 inch doors apparently have 5 inches glass in them.

  1. The funny thing is the proportions… most of the past limos where refitted off the floor models.. But this thing is huge. watching CNN today you could see it when some one stood next to it… it roof is as tall as an SUV.. In fact those headlights and grill are taken from the Caddy Escalade SUV; so that may help put some scale on it. SO it looka like a car, Drivea like a car…. But it is actually a truck. I am sure it has a full boxed frame and a large diesel motor.. more truck traits.. In fact.. the only off the shelf parts is the trim.. headlight, grill, taillights. Even the badges are made over sized the keep with the sedan look.

    I like it!

  2. I find it a bit ironic that Obama’s car gets about 9MPG. But then, it’s obviously not designed for efficiency.

  3. The thing looks like The Beast, is it not the same vehicle President W. Bush had?

  4. The really sad thing, is that this is primarily designed to protect him from Americans 🙁

  5. Won’t releasing so many details be a security risk? There must be some features of Cadillac One which they’ve kept secret.

  6. I have a tough time believing he’s any more hated than Bush Jr., but give him a few weeks and that will probably start to change.

  7. He’s not more hated than Shrub. More individual people hated Shrub, but they were mostly pacifists. The people that hate Obama are gun totting white supremacists, for the most part.

I’d agree that there are other unspoken features, but I think deterrence is part of the effect desired here… which of course just pushes off any threat to more vulnerable situations and contexts which makes SS field agents’ jobs that much harder.

  9. How will Obama get it serviced under warranty once GM goes under?

Next year’s limo will be a Toyota.

  10. With cars as ugly as this, it’s no wonder GM needs more bailout money. Ugg…
