Mike McMaster is interviewed by Norm from Tested.com about his full sized Wall-E build. Even though the movie is animated and the size of Wall-E does change here and there in the movie there were some good key scenes with things such as a Rubik’s Cube which allowed him to get a good idea of the approximate robot size. There have been lots of Wall-E builds over the years but Mike wanted to make something large and light. He ended up using foam board wrapped in construction paper. Watch the video above to see what a great job Mike did in painting the thing to look like big chunky metal! The 68 treads for the 2 tracks were made in custom made molds. A standard RC remote is used to control everything that Wall-E can do such as driving around, moving his head and playing sounds.
