If you have a laser cutter and looking for an interesting weekend project, this Laser Cut Bowl by Outfab might be just the thing. The design is very good at material usage since all of the parts are nested inside the overall cutouts. If you wanted to bang together a bunch of them I could see making a slightly different design that could be put together and act as a guide, then you could just place a few glue dots on each piece and drop it in one after another and it would self align based on the jig.
