The Hula Hula engine starts quite slow and looks like it would vibrate tremendously however as it picks up speed it looks like everything balances out. First thing to do after running this engine would be to make sure you still have all of your fingers.
“This is a steam type engine running on compressed air.It self starts itself. This was named by the hula style action as it runs. This is a Phil Duclos design.”

NOT for sale on ebay. What was on sale is the book with the instructions on how to build one.
“This is just one of the 29 projects included in the book.”

Also, don’t forget the Barbie-sized hoola-hoop!

Ya know, it work off the same common crankshaft that most rotary airplane engines use.
I even remember seeing a woodworking project to show the same motion.
still cool though.

I would like to buy the instructional book on how to build one…hula hula engine.
Anyone have a site??
what a complete waste of time…this has no practical application, is extremely inefficient, and has so many failure modes would be extremely unreliable…

I have a gentleman who wants to get specific data on the hula hula engine and would like to talkt to Philip Duclose. Does anyone know his number or how to contact him?
