  1. Watch out for those iSplinters

  2. Um, after the jump it says “each 2x4pod is a unique non-functional object”, and notes a low, low price of $199 each. Don’t say nuthin’ about no Nano inside. Alan, I think you been gamed here, dude!

FWIW, I will be happy to make a “unique non-functional” 2x4Pod in _cherry_ for $99!

  3. Thanks for the heads up Marty, the site must have been updated after it was featured here…

  4. the other one on the site looked much nicer

  5. And have you seen the sculptures further down the page? it looks like sone one smashed up their keyboard, took a blowtorch to it, and finally puked all over it.

    Good price though, only $500………..

  6. what is so special about ipods anyway?

I mean. my mp3 player not only plays music. but it records and holds other files too. plus it fits into every usb in america!

    and its only like $45!

  7. My non functionctional computer mouse if for sale. Complete in plastic! Only $49.99

joebob: how much memory does it have? 30gb?

  8. I think you should remove that thing.
    It’s just a non-functional ugly block of wood…

    just my opinion…

    nOObY

    ……
    LOL

  10. ok daniele, your functional laptop, can you tell me the specs? I may be interested although the price is too steep

  11. Well, mister creator, looks like the masses have spoken. To paraphrase the frenchman in Monty Pyton and the Holy Grail, we (f)art in your general direction!

  12. Sounds like you could have a whole bunch of ’em pretty easily from an iPlank!

  13. No offense, but the 2nd design looks like crap. The first one, where you could still tell it was an iPod was unreal and very very well done. The second one is clearly poorly put together, poorly cut holes, and still has glue coming out of the seems. $199 for a cover that anyone can put together for $1 is bullshit, the first one is well worth a good chunk of money (still not $199, maybe $50-$75) but is a lot better.

  14. Andrew, please read.. more.. carefully. The one by Zap Wizard is indeed a wooden cover for an iPod. The _thing_ shown above is (slow down now) .. just .. a .. piece .. of .. wood. No iPod inside. No electronics inside. It’s does not function in any way. Unless you can bring yourself to assign it some artistic function, which I do not. I can go along with “form follows function”. This one is just FORM, with no function. A mockup. A dummy. Which is the same thing I would call an individual who ponied up any greenbacks for any of the items created by the above person. (Who may or may not be the Tim that passed Alan this fraud-as-art item.

(Gimme a couple of days and I’ll, um, produce something equally functional. Have to make a mold first.)
