If you’ve never seen one before it is really hard to figure out, nice hard one guys but I liked the challenge

After a while on google I think I got it.

Not very difficult, if you’re familiar with the latest devices… but still fun to try to find!
easy one

Again, another contest where I’d prefer the thing to guess to the prize. But, then, who wouldn’t? The prize is still desirable, though!
Yes, for this one if you have a good idea of what it could be Google will be your friend. 🙂

what it is is simple, but the model on the otherhad.. wouldn’t have a clue
Permalink
I have no idea yet what the thing is, I can’t even say for sure what the prize is. Can someone please tell me what the prize is?

Arduino Pro – 5V/16MHz see link that says Arduino Prize

the prize is a open source programmable microcontroller, called the arduino pro. A version of the Arduino made by sparkfun.com. The device is programmed via serial you can use it to control various electronics like LCD’s, and Motors, ETC. For More info go to http://www.arduino.cc

Do we need to specify a model name for the product pictured?
Hi Curtis,
The actual model isn’t needed but you will have to know what type of device the board is for and what it can be used for.
Holy crap this was easy…
Permalink
really?
80% of America could recognize the corporate logo, however cleaved it might be. The other card doesn’t make it any harder.
Might as well do the NES one again.
Well…Partially because I just happen to have taken one apart…

I actually think that the model should be required for entries like this where the thing really is pretty specific. Makes it more fun/challenging to find the answer (which I did). Without requiring the model number it becomes less of an easter egg hunt and more of a boring raffle. But for another recent contest (the vibrating motor) the answer wouldn’t require a specific model number because it’s a more generic component/device. Should probably give some award to folks who come up with the funniest non-answer – whoever came up with “steampunk corn on the cob” on another recent contest owes me some napkins…

Hi Steve,
When I was putting this one together I was debating how detailed I should make it. I want to have some very hard ones, and some easier ones so that everyone has a chance to play. But don’t worry there are some very hard ones around the corner. 🙂
Permalink
I’m not sure I’m up to your very hard ones… If this one was model specific I’d consider it only medium hard (probably about my speed) because of the significant/obvious clues… Your hard ones seem to be ones you’d only get if you had some very specific experience, so they’re either doable or impossible. This one you could figure out by using the clue to make a basic assumption, then doing some searches based on that assumption and with a little luck finding the answer and having a good entry, but you didn’t have to be in a specific field in some specific time period to be able to get it.
I do enjoy the contests, it’s the only contest of any kind I care enough to attempt to enter.
