Ice Cream Making Robot using KUKA Robots

It is nice to see something other than a basic machining project for a final university course. This team spent 5 weeks putting together a cool final project that would create and serve an ice cream to some hungry onlookers!

"The Department of Technological Studies at Ohio Northern University developed these ice cream serving robots as part of an extracurricular activity for ONU’s homecoming festivities. The project took 5 weeks and included 26 students."

  1. I cant belive they use such a powerful machine for something so simple, that it can be done with legos,

  2. Let’s hear it for overkill!!
Hey with so much unemployment, even robotic arms need to find new jobs. :p

  3. in my opinion, that’s a classic case of cracking nuts with a sledgehammer(or a 2500 metric tons press used for stamping out metal shapes.

  4. If you really want to see something cool, see the robots at Discovery Ice Cream. Commercialized in 2007…
