How a 4 Layer PCB is Made

When you send off your Gerber files to have your latest board made you will be shipped some shiny new board in a few weeks. The process of creating the boards is very time consuming, the video above goes through the many steps of how a 4 layer PCB is created. Most boards are 2 layer but it is interesting to see how the inner layers of the 4

Car Stereo Amp Repair

This amp sure had a ton of issues. Maxxarcade found that there were multiple shorted transistors that needed to be replaced. The amp was built with the TO-220 power transistor’s tab soldered to a thin heatsink. A cooking skillet was used to pre-heat the assemblies to allow the parts to be removed and resoldered using a regular iron.

Arduino Data Visualization

If you have something in the real world that you would like to monitor this Arduino Data Visualization will help you to do just that. “Hardware: Arduino (We’re using the UNOr3) Ethernet Shield DHT22 Temperature + Humidity Sensor Hookup wires Angled pin headers (unless you use female-male hookup wires, then you won’t need these) 9v Wall Adapter Ethernet Cable Software: Latest Arduino software (1.0.5) Plotly Arduino Library Adafruit DHT

When a Ferrari is crashed and squished into a small metal cube what good is it? Well Charly Molinelli of Molinelli Designs used some creativity to make it an amazing coffee table. Via: TechEBlog

Robo-Raptor controlled by an Arduino

Long time maker Bob Davis has made a Robo-Raptor that is controlled by an Arduino. When the stock electronics in a product don’t do what you want just hack some new brains into them! This robot is from the pages of his book, Arduino Robotics Projects.

DSLogic - Open Hardware Logic Analyzer and More

If you are in the market for a Logic Analyzer the DSLogic might fit the bill. At time of writing it is fully funded and you can get the early backer board for $49 (there are still 13 left). The next step up is $40 more and gets you the test clips and a USB cable, if you don’t mind making some test leads yourself you can save
