  1. I used to install these for a living.

  2. I amost didn’t see the contest with it starting on a Sunday ๐Ÿ™‚

OK, I know what it is too (and found the picture).

  3. You have a leg up on the others if you have actually worked with them Rob. ๐Ÿ™‚ No guess work for you…

  4. 1. Explosives Detonator.
    2. This rare item was last featured in the movie Executive Decision starring Kurt Russell at which point it was scrapped due to the realization that while it was a cool idea for a physical detonator, it was powerless to the electrical insulating power of a half chewed coffee stirrer.

  5. Got it: This is definitively a pocket light down below ๐Ÿ˜‰

    SCNR

  6. Well since everyone else is posting their answers, here’s mine. It is a second generation flux-capacitor. The one used in “back to the future” was loosely based on the first gen.

  7. I wonder what it would be like to put one of those in a … a… One of those things that there are videos of people putting things of this object’s nature in to… (Hehe… If you know what it is, you know what I mean, but if you don’t you’re probably still in the dark.)

  8. I think it is time for a guess what it isn’t contest. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Electronic geeks would say it resembles a giant sized Germanium diode.
It’s a heavy duty crystal radio detector, for use in high RF environments.
    ๐Ÿ™‚ not..

  10. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to have a clue as to what the item is. Finally, an easy one.

  11. it looks like a low power *** tube.

  12. Maybe I should’nt post this, but, would an *** tube have “..is under internal pressure..” labled on
the side of it? Just something to ponder.

  15. Many thanks to Alan for a most interesting web site. I would not have known what this

I now know what this is, after some research. May others be enlightened as well.
