I would like to win the Nuts and Volts 😉

The laser pointer computerlink is a great idea. Here it’s in a bigger scale 😉 http://www.esa.int/esaCP/ESASGBZ84UC_index_0.html

Is it open to New Zealanders ?
Mike.
Hi Mike,
Yes all prizes have been selected to be available to anyone worldwide.
Wohoo, good deal, thanks for all you do for the community Alan!
Now those are some sweet prizes in the contest!
Now them’s some nice prizes! Either the Make Magazine or Nuts and Volts would be awesome to read (physically), and the LED’s aren’t a bad catch either!
Now let’s go look for some articles to post on… Witty peanuts commentary anyone?
Wow i would love winning any of the prizes.
Good stuff as usual.
Keep it up Alan.
Happy holidays to everyone.
Nuts and Volts would be awesome, but I’m eying those LEDs ^_^
Permalink
Hm, Gonzo can take the LED’s, I’m eying up Nuts and Volts, or Make. Can I win both? xD
Permalink
Imagine all the throwies!!!
Hacked Gadgets does it again! Most excellent!
The LED’s would make a great aquarium light project. Maybe put a cheap PIC, Stamp, or arduino processor to control it… 🙂
Permalink
Winning any of those prizes would be a great way to start the new year!
Happy Holidays! and thanks for a great site!
Keep up the good work guys. Thanks for offering up free goodies.
All of those are great prizes! I already have a subscription to make and I love it.
Make or LEDs … very exciting!
I would love to have a subscription to Nuts and Volts. I see make at all the zine shops around here but no nuts and volts.
The leds should go to who ever has the best idea for them. I could put the UV leds to work checking cash and other things for water marks or hidden messages.
I have always wanted to get a subscription to Make magazine, and who doesn’t always need more LEDs?
Question though, is each email address only entered once, or do you get multiple entries for multiple comments? (constructive and well thought out comments, of course)
Nice loot! Thanks for showing the love
Permalink
Screw the magazines. I could do a lot with 120 LEDs.
I’d like to win a magazine subscription! Thanks and happy solstice!
Make is a great magazine, however a little over priced in the print version considering a great collection of sites on the WWW
Permalink
Those LEDs lighten me up! 😛
Permalink
Well, im from argentina, so its cheaper to have the leds xD.
Hope to win this one..
CYA!
whoa, I’m up for some LEDs : )
So it’s like the lottery ? If I post 10 comments I’ve got 10 chances to win ? And you say you don’t want spam ? ;D
Permalink
Is vic wright? Do you have more chances to win if you post more?
thinking of all the things i can do with the LEDs
Permalink
This is the easiet entry into a contest that I’ve ever seen.
Would love a years subscription on one of those magazines.
all of these prizes look nice.
Would love to have the prizes too, though I’d hope that Make has cleaned up their act since I canceled my subscription.
Thanks for the contest! Personally, I would prefer the Nuts & Volts magazine.
Hi Vic and oler,
That’s correct. Each comment left on the site (on any HG post) till the end of the year will be counted so if you leave 10 posts during that period they will all be entered individually be entered. By spam I don’t want to see “Nice job” posted on 100 posts.
Hi Scott,
I am curious, what Make did to make you cancel?
Is it my network ore is the text on this article outside the box?
Tried on more than one machine on the same network.
Opera on two machines, Opera mobile and internet explorer 8
Anyone else seeing this?
Ah i like the system off each comment getting treated as a single entry rather than all the combined ones as an entry with a higher value.
Nice and simple.
But i guess it was easier to program it this way.
@Scott what made you cancel your Make subscription?
I bought a paper copy once and i loved it.
Hi Oler,
Yes it is much easier this way. In the database each comment has a primary key so all I will need to do is find the range of numbers that matches the time period and use use a random number generator to pick one in that range.
What if you loot yourself? :p
Permalink
LOL that would be funny. What I have done in the past is select a new one if the comment doesn’t apply (that would be a comment from me, a ping back from another site, or some spam that didn’t get caught).
All prizes look nice, but I´d prefer the LEDs if I win….:)
Ohhh this would be nice!
Ill add my vote and state I’d like the Nuts & Volts magazine as well…
Permalink
Oler, I am also having the same problem here of the text extending over the right hand portion of the page.
This would be awesome to win any one of these prizes.
As good as all those prizes are I want the LEDs 😀 My supplies are running low and I have things that need light!
Magazines would be nice
Permalink
Thanks for the feedback about the text on the right overlapping some of the right column. I have corrected the formatting issue. It should now scale for that resolution.
You guys always have the best contests!
These are all really good prizes to get into the DIY/Tech/Hacking spirit of the season!
Those LEDs should be the #1 prize…
Permalink
It’s always interesting to see what people come up with for comments when these contests are on. You can try spotting the comments that wouldn’t normally be placed but have been because of the contest. It’s pretty fun 🙂 For example this comment would count..
how cool…. love the website!
Ooooh… neat prizes. I’ve been meaning to subscribe to one of those magazines, but being a student, perhaps this contest can save me some dosh 🙂
Permalink
Happy Holidays, and keep up the great contests!
Many greeting for Merry Xmas from Greece.
good winter reads .. I’ll try to be topical here. I typically hack (literally) my magazines to remove the un-needed adverts. Tearing out all the extra pages makes them smaller on the shelf. Won’t work with the binding Make has, but it doesn’t need the hack anyway.
Great! I love these contests, good luck to everyone!.
I’d love to be able to buy those in Argentina, we’re not so lucky down here.
Merry Xmas for everyone.
I don’t know why the rest of you entered I’m going to win 🙂
Permalink
Will this contest also be available to international readers? I hope so… 😀
Permalink
Hi Juan,
Great question, yes the contest is available to anyone regardless of location! I can’t think of one that we have had where there was a location restriction. The sponsors are also made aware of this since past winners have been from all over.
I could use a few UV LED right now!
i just wanna win!
Thanks for the contest.
Happy Holidays
Permalink
sign me up to win!
happy new year
Permalink
Fingers crossed for Make magazine.
