PSP 3000 an Inside Look

The guys over at TechRestore take lots of technology apart to show us how it works. They made one of the best screen backgrounds that I have ever seen. It is a picture of what is literally behind the screen! This isn’t an amazing feat of technological wonder, but sometimes it’s the little things that make me smile. Have a look at the PSP deconstruction video below, that video

Flip Clock Wrist Watch

I remember growing up with a flip clock on the bed side table. It was similar to the one pictured above except that it was encased in a stylish simulated wood-grained plastic box. Jeri from Fat Man and Circuit Girl took the flip mechanism and hacked it into a wrist watch. Now that is a time piece that any true geek can love! Via: Adafruit

iPhone Controlled R2D2 Robot

This R2D2 robot is a work in progress but in the end the creator will have it working 100% with his iPhone. The first steps video shows the robot under control of a standard remote but that is just a temporary control method. Have a look here for some of the iPhone interface information. We will have to keep our eye on the progress and report back when it

MV CoilMaster Mark1 Coil Gun

LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Drawing Robot

Inspired by Erik’s creations, Daniele Benedettelli put together this very elaborate drawing robot. You basically import a picture that you want the machine to draw. Manipulate the image to make the image simpler and let the robot loose to draw it. I can’t wait until my daughter starts asking for one of these LEGO Mindstorm NXT kits. It will be lots of fun for me her.

Submersible ROV

If you want to go under the sea, this Parallax Submersible ROV project by Richard will allow you to go where most electronics don’t want to go. With a goal of looking at the bottom of a lake in Michigan and watching some fish I think this project will do very well. "This ROV is tethered to the surface with a 6 conductor Ethernet cable and nylon support line.
