RC and airsoft is a good combination, have a look at this cool rolling gun platform.
“RC toys are always fun, especially when you can add weapons…
I was given this RC car for christmas, and it came with a switch on the remote for lights you could turn on. I tore off the body and clipped the wires to the lights. It turns out they put out a nice 10v signal. I quickly grabbed my tiny breadboard and using its adhesive, glued it to the RC car ( there was a perfect plateau to fit it on). Then I headed to dunhams and bought the cheapest electric airsoft gun (25$) and attacked it with my dremel… With a 6v DC relay I put it all together and oila, a sweet RC car with a fully automatic weapons turret! ”

Have a look at this arisoft robot. I wouldn’t want to find myself on the wrong side of this one if I was wearing white. ๐

This servo controlled airsoft gun by Inventgeek is version 2 of a cool concept.
“So version 2.0 is done. We really focused on creating as diverse as a platform as possible. One side effect is that it seems a little diluted. So I recommend you go with either USB or RC and not both. Either way after doing some testing and tuning we were able to get our gun up to about 1500 rounds per minute. Or about 25 rounds a second using these cheap guns. I was let informed by a fan that there are electric airsoft guns that will shoot up to 1100 round a minute by their selfรขโฌโขs. Imagine 4 of those running at the same time!”

Roomba hacks are fun but a hack to make it a watch dog and shoot your guests in the feet is the best!

All you need is a laser pointer to make this airsoft creation come alive.
“I’m currently using the 8 servo serial controller, and s666n High Torque servo motor, both of which are made by Pololu Robotics. I highly recommend using their servo controller over the Mini-SSC variety, because of the added resolution. Pololu’s servo controllers work with Mini-SSC protocol as well, however I saw quite an increase in precision when I switched over to Pololu protocol.”

I have often thought about mounting an airsoft turret on a toy boat to make it a “deck gun” of sorts. The only problem I can think of is, are the foam pellets that airsoft uses envirofriendly? It would seem as though they are not. Any idea?
i have an airsoft gun and play airsoft those are cgeapy guns, but good for reeaally small weak battles. aisoft guns don’t use foam pellets by the way they use plastic or paintball pellets, maily plastic. There are somebiodegradeable bbs but i don’t think there foam.

RC and Airsoft, two great things merged ๐

It seems there are a lot of cool airsoft projects coming up these days… but here in Spain I haven’t seen that guns in any shop (maybe I haven’t looked around enough). Anyone knows any web shop to buy it at a good price? and with low shipping cost, of course ๐

Here are some for your gun ship ๐

Ryan…..airsofting has always been kind of a “whats the point?” for me. The fact that they are cheap airsoft guns just tells me they don’t want to tear up a nice gun for the sake of a hack…and I cannot blame them ๐

well yeah i guess but still you could just buy one with like a foldable stock and take off the hinges or you could just by a small pistol, but yeah if yah wanted to save some cash i guess you could. oh and by the way sombody should make a grenade launching turret.

I’m a fan of the roomba projects

I can’t wait to see what this guy is up to!! http://www.c-h-a-o-s.com/2007/05/14/chaos_c-h-a-o-s_automated_bb-gun_trigger/

some one should make a tank with a turret that has a pair of famases with c-cmags (auto winding) and a grenade launcher mounted to a spreate mount

am i the only one that has thought of an rc plane with airsoft guns, or a helicopter, i haven’t seen anything that flies with airsoft guns attached, maybe it would be a little more expensive but i figured someone would have tried it
Permalink
might be too heavy with wind resitance plus the fact of balance or the ones that might be able to fly them are to exspnesive to mod like that

Quick question…. How do these guys remotely fire their guns? Is the trigger just an electrical switch (making it easily hackable)?
Thanks

urrrrrrrrrr

ya im fixing up my broken mini uzi and replacing the broken trigger with a big, i think light switch but id need to solder and i dont feel like it at the moment
Permalink
an rc plane with airsoft would be very hard to aim unless you had a camera and sights built into it, drag could be greatly reduced by putting the gun inside the fuselage. a helicopter would be much more practical for a DIY project, though a motor/engine hack would probably be needed or the heli would have poor maneuverability

some good sights are airsplat.com, airsocom.com, hobytron.com, shortyusa.com. airsplat is probably the cheapest but one of the lower quality ones. airsocom is a little bit more xpensive, but there very nice guns. (i bought both of mine from there and theve lasted me 5 years)

Basically, I wish we could mount machine guns on the hood of our cars.
