This Wifi Robot that Jonathan Bennett created is very well put together, best of all it was built on a budget. The five dollar base car that the hardware is mounted to is proof of that. "A remote control car that can be driven over the internet or with a laptop wirelessly from up to 500m away. It has a live-feed network camera so that it can be driven
We have seen some decent sized miltitouch systems in the past but this Multitouch Table by NUI is huge! I guess when the project is worth 60 billion dollars like the Cityscape Abu Dhabi nothing but the latest and greatest display will do. "NUI successfully conceptualized, designed, built and delivered a customized interactive multi-touch solution, which was demonstrated at Citscape Abu Dhabi 2008, the International Property Investment and Development
This wooden clock by Clayton Boyer is something else! I think I have found the perfect winter project for when I have a bit more time on my hands. "Her large, nearly 14” diameter wheel and unique escapement make Solaris the focal point of the room. Her unusual, and very forgiving escapement releases every two seconds with a sound quite unlike anything else. It is not your usual “Tick
The Robocut is an interesting lawn cutting robot. It is great because you build it yourself and it’s powered by a Parallax Stamp Microcontroller. Just like iRobot did for the Roomba, RoboCut has the ability for the purchaser to play with the design and come up with their own idea for the system operation. Have a look at the circuit board below, there’s even a small amount of prototype
This LED Coffee Table made by Spark Fun is one high tech piece of equipment! I am sure there will provide many hours of entertainment. "The table itself was bought secondhand and refinished. Then it was retrofitted with proper mounting for the big LED matrix. The individual LED matrices were mounted on a custom plastic frame. All this work was done by resident mechanical engineer and lady-killer Casey Haskell.
This Dolmette Chinsaw Bike was built awhile ago but I never saw anything about the build. What a cool design! You got to love companies that have lots of money to throw around for fantastic projects like this. Video after the jump. "The combined power of 24 DOLMAR chainsaw engines is fed into to a 5-speed Harley-Davidson transmission by a series of twelve toothed belts. For use in the
Brett Raub created the coolest most powerful blender I have ever seen! He calls it the Top Fuel Blender since he uses it at the race track where he needs a blender that does not plug in. The motor is from an old weed wacker, the exhaust is an old toilet and there is a bunch of electronics that control the system and display. Since the blade system operates
